Cape Coral man dies after two motorcycles collide with pickup on Luckett Road

UPDATE 8:13 P.M.:

According to FHP reports, two men on motorcycles were traveling east on Luckett Road
at high speeds when a pickup truck came off the I-75 ramp into the eastbound lanes attempting to make a left turn.

Both motorcycles collided with the driver's side of the truck, one towards the front of the vehicle and one towards the rear. Both men were ejected from their motorcycles and landed in the street on the other side of the truck.

A 26-year-old from Cape Coral passed away at the scene.

The second biker, a 19-year-old from Fort Myers, suffered critical injuries.

The driver of the pickup, a 44-year-old woman from Fort Myers, suffered minor injuries.

Both were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation with FHP.


A fatal accident shut down all eastbound lanes of the Luckett Road off-ramp on I-75, around 4:18 this afternoon.

Lee County deputies are assisting FHP troopers with traffic control after a multiple vehicle crash at mile marker 139.

Lanes will be shut down for an undetermined amount of time.

Please avoid the area or seek an alternate route.
