FORT PIERCE, FL — A Florida family is looking for help after their house burnt down last week.
Adashia Hanna said she was at work when she got a text from a friend that her house was on fire. She said fire crews determined it was an electrical fire that started on the roof.
Hanna says, when fire crews first got to the scene, they couldn’t get to one of her children, who was trapped inside the house.
“No one could find my youngest, because they were saying that he had to, because he was in the house. So he had to actually break the window to get out of the house, because they couldn’t get in," said Hanna.
Thankfully no one was injured in the fire, but the house is a total loss.
Hanna’s family did not have insurance on the house, so they have started a Go Fund Me. It has already raised more than $23,000.
She said they are planning to build a new house on the same plot of land.
