MARCO ISLAND, Fla. -- Police are investigating reports of prop money being used at a Marco Island convenience store Wednesday.
According to a police crime report, a customer at a Mobile station on Bald Eagle Drive was buying lottery tickets and handed the clerk a fake $20 bill. The clerk noticed the bill did not feel real and saw it was printed with the phrases "prop money" and "Rozetta prop money".

The clerk notified the customer that the bill was fake, and he reacted with shock. The man told investigators that he and his wife are visiting from Ohio and paid for breakfast at an area restaurant with a $100 bill and got three $20 bills as change. He claimed the prop money was among the change.
An employee at the restaurant says valid money was given to the customer.
The fake bill was placed into evidence by police.
Police say no other similar incidents have been reported in Marco Island.
