**UPDATE (2:15PM)** -- Police say a 21-year-old man has been arrested after they say he pointed a gun at officers while fleeing the scene early Monday morning.

According to Fort Myers Police, a shooting victim told police that he was shot in the leg Monday morning near the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Earl Road by a man driving a blue Nissan with a busted headlight.

Police later attempted to stop a vehicle of the same description along Jackson Street.  That's when they say the driver and a passenger jumped from a moving car and fled.  Pollice say the driver, later identified as 21-year-old Jack Nash, pointed a gun at an officer as he fled, and the officer pulled his own firearm and fired shots.

Nash discarded the firearm when he was cornered in the 2200 block of Jackson Street and taken into custody.

Nash faces charges of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing to elude Law Enforcement, Resisting arrest w/o violence, and Possession of Firearm by convicted Florida Felon.

He was booked into the Lee County Jail.

THe shooting victim was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital, treated and released.
