FORT MYERS, Fla.- A Cape Coral man involved in a crash that killed an FGCU student last year will not spend any time in jail.

Donald Kottkamp pleaded no contest to careless driving. He will pay a $2,000 fine and his license will be suspended for 6 months.

Investigators say last September he caused a wreck on Michael G Rippe Parkway, killing 20 year old Ryan Wendler.

This is not the first time Kottkamp has been involved in a deadly crash. In 2001, he reached a settlement stemming from a crash in Pennsylvania.
