FORT MYERS, Fla. — COVID-19 has altered work for many Americans, leaving some people to think out of the box to make a living.

Derrick, also known as DJ Reel to Real, has been a DJ for a very long time, but with clubs and bars closed he's had to take his work outdoors.

"I'm very good at my craft," Albert said.

His new way of making money has allowed him to travel the country with his wife.

"I’m Pam and I’m Derrick Alberts wife. We bought our dream home, which is our house on wheels, a 30 ft RV. This has been a dream of ours every single day. Since July 31 2020, we have traveled every single day, like we live in this home," Pam said.

She said this has been a dream for them.

"This is like living the dream. This is how he lives his life, how he supports us. He isn’t making a fortune, COVID took us down a lot. No clubs, no bars, and now he’s a street performer so wherever we go he just pulls over and when he feels the music he really feels the music."

"When you're on the water, the water really calms you so you try to play towards a calm set. Something to make people dance but on a really smooth tip," Albert said. "This is beautiful this is right on the water basically beachfront. I love to make people happy with music, music is the key to people’s souls and I like to hold."
