IMMOKALEE, Fla. — Collier County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) deputies handed out jackets and hot chocolate to children on their way to school this morning.

As temperatures dropped to the low 50s, Comunity-Oriented Policing deputies Cpl. Mike Taylor and Cpl. Patti Calderon and Youth Relations Bureau Sgt. Kain Mills served up more than 200 cups of hot chocolate and provided light jackets to students without coats as they walked to Pinecrest Elementary School in Immokalee.

Parents received hot chocolate as well as CCSO cards with tips for preventing car burglaries and keeping Collier County a safe place.

Pastor Bobby Kline and parishioners at Corkscrew Baptist Church, 22022 Immokalee Road, donated the hot chocolate and jackets. Benison Center, 815 Main St., provided the cups.
