The Lee County Sheriffs' Office arrested a man accused of using fraudulent credit cards to purchase gas.
IN February, LCSO's Economic Crimes Unit conducted an operation at a local gas station after a man was observed swiping several cards as various gas station pumps.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the van, operated by 25-year-old Adrian Morales-Hernandez.
When deputies searched his van they found a large illegal fuel tank inside.
Morales-Hernandez was initially charged with Unlawful Conveyance of Fuel and booked into the Lee County Jail and released on bond, but upon searching the vehicle, detectives found 34 counterfeit credit cards disguised as Walmart gift cards.
He was then charged with Traffic In/Possession of Counterfeit Credit Cards.
