CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- The Charlotte County Sheriff's office arrested nearly 100 drug traffickers during a 6-month program called 'Operation Spring Cleaning.'
The Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) Task Force released results of Operation Spring Cleaning, Wednesday, an initiative in 27 Florida counties that focused on the investigation and arrest of people manufacturing, delivering or trafficking drugs.
During this operation, CCSO took 98 drug traffickers off the streets, confiscated 9.79 pounds of controlled substances, and seized 4 firearms. Substances included 170 grams of cocaine, 3,409 grams of opioid, 598 grams of meth, and 198 grams of marijuana.
In the state of Florida, 4,988 people were arrested for trafficking, 12.5 million grams of drugs were collected, and 1,679 guns were seized.
