FORT MYERS, Fla. — It's a verdict years in the making, Jimmy Rodgers is now a convicted murderer.
Rodgers also picked up a trespassing conviction in court on October 23.
It's all in connection to his role in the 2015 murder of Bonita Springs doctor, Teresa Sievers.
The state is seeking a life sentence for Rodgers, but Florida Gulf Coast University professor, Pamella Seay, says they shouldn't get too comfortable with that idea.
"I think there will definitely be an appeal and I think the defense may have something."
Rodgers is set to be sentenced on November 18.
He's currently being held without bail.
