FORT MYERS, Fla. — We experienced cooler temperatures today in Southwest Florida, from Fort Myers to Cape Coral people were bundled up in jackets and hats.

Fox 4 spoke with neighbors about how the weather impacted weekend plans.

Micheal Howard says he traveled in from Miami this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see the cooler temperatures.

“ I was a little surprised when I got up I had to throw on a jacket and jeans as I got in the car, ” said Howard.

Susan Anderson says although today might not be beach weather, its perfect for a nice Sunday stroll through the city.

“We like the change so we can wear something with long sleeves, and the humidity is down, ” said Anderson.

Today’s weather remained within the mid-’60s

“This is the kind of weather that everybody looks forward to, its cool enough that you can put a light jacket on but you can still enjoy the outside,” said Don Trelease

Fox 4 meteorologist Eric Stone says temperatures will stay within the ’70s all week.
