FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Fort Myers community gathered to honor a legendary civil rights leader on Saturday.
More than 250 people were in attendance at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Gala. The Dunbar Festival Committee hosted the sold out event at the Sidney Berne Davis Art Center. Fox 4 anchor Shari Armstrong emceed the event.
Community leaders such as Councilman Streets were honored. This is just one of multiple events to honor Dr. King.
The next event will be a march on Monday to honor his legacy.
