LEE COUNTY, Fla — On Tuesday, the Lee Board of County Commissioners voted to accept a $2.67 million federal grant for homeless-prevention programs.

It would also include some foreclosure and eviction prevention programs.

The grant would be funded by the CARES Act, which is through the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The county says the grant will help increase the capacity of existing homeless prevention programs.

They say this grant is in addition to the $134.4 million in federal dollars allocated to Lee County from the CARES Act.
