COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — The Collier County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
The award is recognition for the clear financial reporting and “spirit of transparency and full disclosure” demonstrated in the 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) which was produced by the Clerk’s Finance and Accounting Department.
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The Collier Clerk’s Office has received this honor every year since 1986.
“We take our stewardship of public funds very seriously, and we are honored to receive this prestigious award once again,” said Clerk Crystal K. Kinzel. “Our goal with the CAFR is to provide transparent and thorough financial reporting to our citizens, and our finance team works hard to achieve that goal.”
The CAFR encompasses the entire financial operations of county government, and serves as a valuable tool for assessing the county’s fiscal health and for long-term financial planning.
The 2019 CAFR is available for viewing on the Clerk’s website, www.CollierClerk.com.
