According to environmentalists, extremely cold temperatures off Cape Cod have caused the deaths of dozens of sea turtles.

Massachusetts Audubon Society reported that 227 cold-stunned turtles have been recovered from the Gulf of Maine since Wednesday, but only 54 survived.

The surviving turtles are now being warmed and will be shipped to other Aquariums for Eventual release.

Mass Audubon's director said the deaths on climate change, and the Gulf of Maine was too cold for sea turtles to come into until recent years.
