CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office performed a Christmas miracle for a woman who's purse got stolen just a few days ago.
Deputies say her purse was stolen from the Taco Bell on McCall Road in Englewood. Inside the purse, was a significant amount of cash, which was intended to purchases Christmas presents for her children, as well as her bank cards and license.
In order to help the woman out, members of the sheriff's office, Achieva Credit Union, First Presbyterian Church, and the Dustin Strong Memorial were able to raise over $2,100 in addition to collecting various gifts for the woman and her family.
The man who stole the woman's purse, Timothy Richards, was arrested on Christmas Eve and was taken to the Charlotte County Jail.
