FORT MYERS, Fla. --- Clean water activists rally in downtown Fort Myers for its Captains for Clean Water fundraiser Friday.
The event was held at Millennial Brewing Company located on 1811 Royal Palm Avenue from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Attendees enjoyed a silent auction, 50:50 raffle and other raffles, along with various vendors.
Money raised during the fundraiser will be used to help small businesses impacted by the algae blooms and red tide plaguing the state's waterways. Ten percent of the total beer sold during the event will also go towards benefiting the organization.
The Nickle Ride was on hand to provide free transportation to and from the fundraiser.
Captains for Clean Water is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the elimination if harmful, large-scale Lake Okeechobee discharges into the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie River Estuaries.
