CAPE CORAL, Fla — A Cape Coral elementary school will have a new playground when the school year starts. A playground they helped make happen.
Friday, Diplomat Elementary School officially opened up their newly renovated playground. The school needed it, in part, because enrollment has grown to more than one-thousand students, many more than the old playground was built for.
One of the ways the school paid for the new equipment was a 5K race last October, that many of the students took part in. FOX 4 was one of the race sponsors.
This is actually the first of three planned playground renovations. So the school will raise money with another 5K race in October. Click here for more information.
