Cape Coral Police successfully conduct 56 traffic stops during Operation Saturation Saturday

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a traffic operation dubbed “Saturation Saturday.”

Cape Coral Police partnered with several other agencies and was successful in pulling over impaired drivers and focusing on traffic issues that cause crashes.

In total, the operations conducted:

  • TOTAL TRAFFIC STOPS: 56
  • WARNINGS: 35
  • SPEED CITATIONS: 11
  • SEATBELT CITATIONS: 1
  • MOVING CITATIONS: 9
  • NON-MOVING CITATIONS: 1
  • OPEN CONTAINER (DRIVER): 1
  • CRIMINAL CITATIONS: 1
  • CITATIONS TOTAL: 24
  • DUI ARRESTS: 1
  • TOTAL ARRESTS: 1

One of the arrests included Justin Martin, 19 who after parking his vehicle, got out and then began urinating.

Officers told Martin to stop urinating. Instead, he got back into his vehicle and drove away.

Officers observed open beer cans in his vehicle.

Martin performed poorly during a field sobriety test.
