CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The Cape Coral Police Department posted a warning on their Facebook page. The department posted a surveillance video of a bearded man robbing a gun from a car in a driveway.

"He comes into the frame and then searches the entire car," Corporal Phil Mullen from the Cape Coral Police Department told 4 In Your Corner. "He gets a loaded weapon and runs off into the darkness. All in 18 seconds," he added.

Corporal Mullen said the man in the surveillance video went right for the glove compartment.

"He probably doesn't know what in there," Mullen said. "He's just looking for what he can get," he added.

Police want to remind the public how important it is to make sure your vehicles are locked. They also want you to know not to keep valuables inside.

"Don't leave anything in your car. If you do forget and they get in your car, it'll be 18 seconds of fruitless searching," Corporal Mullen said.

If anyone knows who the man in the video is, you can call the department at (239)574-3223.
