CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- The Cape Coral Police Department is searching for two suspects after a shooting Sunday night at Cape Coral Yacht Club.
According to the police report, a couple was headed to the beach around 9:30pm. “There was an exchange of words, the two males then battered both the male and female,” said Master Sergeant Allan Kolak, Cape Coral Police Department.
CCPD says as the couple was leaving in their car, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired a shot through the driver seat window, which resulted in a bullet grazing one of the victims.
People who frequent the area say they are shocked something like this happened. “I couldn’t believe it, this area is one reason I bought a house here, that’s because it’s family orientated it’s safe,” said Libby Sharper of Cape Coral.
CCPD says no suspects are in custody as of Monday night.
