FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Lee County's school superintendent has wasted no time in naming a new top dog to be in charge your kids' education.

Dr. Greg Adkins is recommending Dr. Jeff Spiro to be the school district's Chief Academic Officer.

The position calls for overseeing the big picture when it comes to student learning. The school board would have to approve Dr. Spiro before he can get the job.

He's been the principal of Cape Coral High for the past three years.

He would replace Dr. Wanda Creel who left after her contract was not renewed.
