CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Cape Coral City Manager Rob Hernandez has selected Deputy Police Chief Anthony “Tony” Sizemore to serve as Cape Coral’s interim police chief.
Tony brings expertise, enthusiasm, and his desire to collaborate with the community to the new role; he will serve as Interim Police Chief as we conduct a national search for the best candidate to fill the position permanently.
Deputy Chief Anthony Sizemore has over 24 years of law enforcement experience. During his career, he has served as the Bureau Commander for Patrol, Investigations, Professional Standards, and the Public Affairs Office.
Deputy Chief Sizemore is a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police leadership program and a graduate of Hodges University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
He is a member of the Southwest Florida Police Chiefs Association, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF). Deputy Chief Sizemore also serves as the Executive Director of the Police Athletic League (PAL).
Deputy Chief Tony Sizemore will replace Chief David Newlan, who announced he would be retiring on November 20th.
