Bridge closures in Lee County for July 4th events

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Two popular bridges in Lee County are experiencing closures Wednesday due to July 4th events in the area.

The Cape Coral Bridge is currently closed due to events scheduled as part of Cape Coral’s Red, White, and Boom celebration.

The bridge will remain closed for the duration of July 4th and reopen at 3 a.m. Thursday.

And on Fort Myers Beach, the Matanzas Pass Bridge will close at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, due to the Fort Myers Beach Fourth of July Parade.

It will re-open at noon, but then close again during the fireworks display from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. to oncoming traffic.
