Boy with seizures sings Ed Sheeran songs, hopes to meet singer

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A 9-year-old epileptic boy has had to deal with uncontrollable seizures for the past six years. The Meneses family has been in the hospital more often than they can count.

"Jorden has seizures every night. He has these big ones every three days, it's a tough life," Nikki Meneses, Jorden's mother, said.

Jorden even had to be airlifted before because of the severity of his seizures.

"He stayed in ICU. He was in a seizure for five days straight," his mother told 4 In Your Corner.

Jorden's struggle with epilepsy has worsened. 

"It's been getting worse, that's why we've been in and out of the hospital," Nikki said. "He was undergoing a bunch of tests to find out why," she added.

However, Jorden and his family got a treat at the Miami-Dade hospital he got treatment from. The hospital played his favorite Ed Sheeran song to cheer him up.

"It fills my heart because he's so precious. He loves all the love songs because they're so beautiful and sweet," Nikki Meneses said.

Nikki recorded Jorden's singing. She then posted it to Facebook in the hopes Sheeran will see it.

However, the Meneses family has received thousands of messages on Facebook. Strangers offering Jorden and his family their support and prayers.

"Nighttime is when the seizure activity is. I lie next to him and I've read some of the prayers and posts to him," Nikki said.

The family will head to Miami-Dade on Thursday. Jorden is scheduled to begin a new trial medicine in order to help him with his seizures.
