A bi-partisan group of lawmakers introduced a bill banning fracking in Florida.
Fracking is a kind of drilling that injects water and chemicals into the ground. The method helps extract oil and natural gas.
Critics say it's too much of an environmental risk.
"In South Florida, the Biscayne aquifer provides drinking water for millions of Floridians," said Michelle Allen, Food and Water Watch.
Allen, Rep. Heather Fitzenhagen (R-Florida) and others rallied in front of the old Lee County Courthouse Tuesday to support House Bill 237.
If passed, Florida would become the 4th state, joining Vermont, New York and Maryland to ban fracking.
