FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A suspected gunman has been arrested after a man was injured by gunfire in Fort Myers of Friday.
21-year-old Markqueon Pearson is charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.
According to Fort Myers Police, Pearson shot 67-year-old Eugene Bouie in the 2000 block of Fountain Street. Bouie was treated at Lee Memorial Hospital and released.
Police say the arrest followed an intensive operation which involved the FMPD S.W.A.T. team, with assistance from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, securing the area, clearing a nearby boarding house and searching the tenant’s rooms.
Pearson, who was a boarder, was identified as the attacker with the assistance of security video.
