FORT MYERS, Fla. — In a Fox 4 only exclusive interview, we met with the victim who describes the scary incident where a man tried to kidnap her and her friend.
The victim, who wanted to remain anonymous, says they met two years ago.
They would hang out as a large group of people who would go to festivals. She never thought he would do something like this, but she said he claimed “he’s in love with her” so she was thinking he was going to kidnap them, kill her friend, and take her hostage.
“He wanted to runaway but he didn’t want to be by himself," she said.
She says she noticed the kidnapper was acting paranoid and believes he may have been high off drugs. “It was literally the moment we left the hotel and got in the car… everything just snapped," she said.
The victim says the car was stopped and not moving when they escaped. She pictured he would keep her in a cage.
She says now she’s carrying weapons, pepper spray a pocket knife, with her places because she’s scared.
Police arrested 34-year-old Bryan Gibson. He is facing two counts of False Imprisonment, two counts of Petit Theft, Battery, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and four counts Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Gibson was released out of jail Wednesday on bond.
“I actually don’t know if I will be able to get sleep tonight,” she said.
