The recent flu epidemic has the Catholic church asking parishioners to not only pray, but take precautions when they're at mass.

The Archdiocese of Santa Fe told New Mexico churches that parishioners don't have to shake hands during mass, drink the wine during communion, or hold hands during the "Our Father" prayer.

Many churchgoers agree with the new rules.

"I don't wanna shake hands at church anyway so," said one churchgoer.

So far this flu season there have been 43 flu-related deaths in New Mexico. The majority of them were 65 and older.
