CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A new four-story restaurant is making its way to South Cape Coral.
The restaurant will be at off of Cape Coral Bridge Parkway East in South Cape Coral. It will include a steakhouse called Prime 239 on the first floor, office spaces on the second and third floor, and Sky Bar 26 on the fourth floor.
Building and restaurant owner George Lukas says the view itself will drive people to come to check the place out.
“It’ll bring people from Fort Myers, Punta Gorda; everybody will want to see the sky bar. It’ll be a tourist attraction,” Lukas said.
Cape Coral is growing fast. The U.S. Census Bureau rated the Fort Myers-Cape Coral area as the seventh fastest-growing metro area in the country.
Other projects like Lucky’s Supermarket and the $10 million parking garage will attract even more people to the city, which could come at a cost to some.
“When you have a boom of people coming into an area, then you have stuff like rents increase,” said Nicole DaPonte, who lives in Cape Coral.
Others think it’s worth the investment.
“We need more restaurants. We need anything to give jobs and make the place more appealing,” said Kim White, who also lives in Cape Coral.
The restaurant will begin construction on June 27, and they plan to finish by November 2020.
