CAPE CORAL, Fla. — An exit poll of Florida voters gives us more insight into what was important to voters in our state this election.

Early this morning, President Trump officially won the state of Florida, securing its 29 electoral votes.

Fox News did an exit poll for voters in Florida and discovered a couple of things with those numbers.

The big takeaway was how people voted, depending on issues surrounding our economy and the coronavirus.

Of Floridians who said the economy was the most important issue, nearly 80% voted for President Trump.

Of those who said the pandemic was the most important issue, 75% voted for former Vice President Joe Biden.

The poll showed most Floridians had their minds made up going into the last few days of the election.

In Lee County, mail-in and early voting made up most ballots, with just over Fifty-nine thousand turning out on election day.

President Trump has now secured Florida's 29 electoral votes; 270 are needed to win.

The exit poll also asked how Floridians feel about the possibility of overturning Roe vs. Wade.

More than 70% said they'd be against this.
