LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- If you evacuated because of Hurricane Irma, then you how stressful it can be to get everything -- and everyone – together. Now imagine doing that with more than 300 animals who have nowhere to go.
That's what the folks at Gulf Coast Humane Society were dealing with as Hurricane Irma approached.
Here’s a look at the heroes who made sure those animals survived the storm.
If you want to feed your soul, whether it's adopting, fostering, or donating your time, money, or supplies like crates and pet food, give them a call at (239) 332-0364.
By the way, the humane society also gave out pet crates ahead of Irma so people could evacuate with their animals.
