FORT MYERS, Fla. -  Florida's Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam attended a hurricane preparedness round table with local officials in Fort Myers Wednesday.

Among the topics - the challenges faced locally during Hurricane Irma, and how to head off any repeat problems during this hurricane season.

Putnam said his main concerns were shelter-based: telling people what kind of shelters - like pet-friendly and disability accessible - were out there.

Wednesday's meeting was also attended by state lawmakers and the undersheriff.
