FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Lee County has declared a nightly curfew will be in effect starting Sunday night.
The curfew will span 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily until further notice. It applies to all cities as well as unincorporated areas. It prohibits all non-essential pedestrian and vehicular movement during those hours.
Those permitted to be out during the curfew are those providing essential services such as fire, police, emergency medical services, hospital services and utility emergency repairs.
The curfew will be enforced by all city police departments, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and additional law enforcement agencies.
Lee County has implemented the curfew to protect its residents and business owners during and after Hurricane Irma.
