COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Two wildfires are burning in Collier County, the North Collier Fire Rescue District said.

One is near the county line between Collier and Hendry counties on Oil Well Road. North Collier Fire Rescue District said that fire is 400 acres.

The second fire is 82 acres in the Big Cypress Preserve just south of I-75.

With wildfires causing smoky conditions in the area, fire officials advise people to do the following:

  • Avoid smoke exposure, especially if you have asthma, lung or heart conditions
  • Stay indoors
  • Use the air conditioning
  • Keep your car windows closed
  • Limit intense outdoor exercise
  • Avoid vacuuming
  • Avoid mowing the lawn - dry brush can ignite
