**UPDATE (9:15AM)** -- Troopers have reopened the stretch of Tamiami Trail in Collier County.  It was reopened to traffic shortly after 9 a.m. after being closed for 5 hours Tuesday morning.

FHP says a travel advisory is still in effect due to the lingering smoke, and the motorists should continue to use caution in the area.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, visibility in the area had dropped to 100 feet as smoke from a wildfire in Picayune Strand drifted into the area.

This same stretch of road was closed from Sunday evening through Monday morning for the same reason.
