U.S. 41 reopens in Collier County after poor visibility from smoke

UPDATE (3/5) -- Florida Highway Patrol says U.S. 41 was reopened at 9:15 a.m. Monday, but could be closed again if condition deteriorate.

The Florida Highway Patrol closed a 15-mile section of U.S. 41/Tamiami Trail east of Naples due to poor visibility from smoke in the area and close proximity of a fire.

The road is closed between State Road 29 near Everglades City and San Marco Road near Collier Seminole State Park.

Alternate Routes:

 
•Traffic traveling west may use Interstate 75 (Alligator Alley) as an alternate route of travel or may use westbound U.S. 41 to northbound State Road 29 to westbound I-75

 
•Traffic traveling east may use I-75 (Alligator Alley) as an alternate route of travel  or may use eastbound I-75 to southbound State Road 29 to eastbound U.S. 41. 
 

Motorists are asked to drive with patience and carefully.
