Forget about the new Star Wars show, “The Mandalorian.” A new “How to Train Your Dragon” special is here!

The new half-hour holiday special from DreamWorks Animation premiered on NBC Dec. 3, and starting Dec. 5, it will be available to watch on Hulu.

“How to Train Your Dragon Homecoming” is set 10 years after the events of “How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World,” the final part of the hugely popular feature-length trilogy (which has been hailed by many as the best animated trilogy of all time), but before the movie‘s epilogue.

Check out the Facebook announcement of the special, which declared, “This holiday season, we’re celebrating Snoggletog!”

According to the official description of the new release, “‘How to Train Your Dragon Homecoming’ opens with Hiccup and Toothless sharing stories of their special relationship with their respective families as they prepare for the Snoggletog Festival.”

“This heartwarming tale leads to a series of hilarious and exciting events, but no matter the circumstance, everyone in New Berk — young and old alike — is reminded that dragons and humans are forever bonded.”

All the familiar voices are back: Jay Baruchel as Hiccup, America Ferrera as Astrid, Gerard Butler as Stoick, Craig Ferguson as Gobber and Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s Fishlegs.

The movie’s Facebook page heralded Ferrera’s return as Astrid with a post exclaiming, “Astrid FTW!”

This holiday season is even more special this year for the “How to Train Your Dragon” team, as “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” was named Best Animated Feature of 2019 by the National Board of Review, as announced on Facebook Dec. 3:

The movie has also been nominated for six Annie Awards, including Best Feature and Best Writing, which will be presented on Jan. 27, 2020 — five days before the start of final voting for the Oscars. It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” winning a coveted golden statuette.

In the meantime, enjoy the holiday special!
