“Home Improvement” stars Tim Allen and Rich Karn are coming back to the small screen — this time to host a building competition show. The reality series has the working title “Assembly Required” and it will air as a 10-episode series on the History Channel.

Set to premiere in 2021, the competition show will “spotlight the best and brightest builders from across the country, at their home workshops, as they compete to breathe new life into everyday household items in desperate need of fixing,” according to a press release.

As hosts and executive producers, Allen and Karn will encourage the contestants to improve upon these old household items — which may even result in brand-new brilliant inventions.

“Let’s face it — we’re living in a throwaway society,” Allen said in the press release. “We buy, break, replace … rinse and repeat. Whatever to happened to repair and rebuild?”

“There are some people who unfriend, unfollow and dispose of anything that offends, annoys or breaks,” Allen continued. “So, I’ve created a show to remind people of the satisfaction and pride that comes from rebuilding something on their own.”

“Home Improvement” ran for eight seasons from 1991 to 1998 on ABC. Allen played boisterous and accident-prone Tim Taylor, the host of the fictional home improvement TV show “Tool Time,” and Karn played his more serious and cautious co-host, Al Borland.

“Our history is defined by innovations of ordinary dreamers creating extraordinary things, from Thomas Edison’s lightbulb to the Wright brothers’ first flight,” Eli Lehrer, executive vice president and general manager for the History Channel, said in the press release.

“We look forward to partnering with Tim and Richard, America’s beloved duo, as they challenge a new wave of skilled individuals to think out-of-the-box to build upon the innovations of those before them.”

Will you tune in to see the “Tool Time” pair host a real-life home improvement show?
