Spice Up Labor Day With Chef Avelar 9/1/16

Superstar chef Emeril Lagasse is opening his first new restaurant in New Orleans in almost two decades. Meril, named after his daughter, is located in New Orleans’ Warehouse District and is the 13th in the Lagasse family of restaurants.

 

New Orleans native Will Avelar is the Chef de Cuisine of Meril. Chef Avelar has worked with Emeril for more than ten years and has a deep knowledge of Lagasse’s celebrated style. In addition, he brings his own unique flavors inspired by his Costa Rican heritage.

 

Just in time to help spice up your viewers’ Labor Day picnics, Avelar is available to share one of his favorite recipes.  Get a sneak peek at the new restaurant in interviews on August 31, as Chef Avelar demonstrates his delicious catfish taco with green mango slaw and roasted corn with chili lime mayo.
