Being a parent is hard work. But being the parent of a missing child is unimaginable. In 2017, almost 500,000 children were reported missing. The most frequent types of cases reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) are runaways, family abductions and lost, injured or otherwise missing children. The least frequent cases reported are nonfamily abductions.

The NCMEC has been committed to defending our nation’s children since its inception in 1984. Over the years, the organization has assisted law enforcement in the recovery of more than 260,000 missing children. May 25th is National Missing Children’s Day, a day to remind parents to be vigilant about children’s safety. On this day, Canon will be unveiling a new online video campaign to raise awareness about the importance of child safety and encourage donations to NCMEC.

On May 24th, Callahan Walsh of the NCMEC will be available for interview to share details about the organization’s mission and a new online video campaign aiming to raise funds and awareness.
