Cheryl Nelson is an Emmy-nominated and AP award-winning certified broadcast meteorologist, natural disaster preparedness expert and TV host with over 15 years of television experience.  Cheryl has appeared nationally on “The Real” daytime talk-show, The Weather Channel, The AccuWeather Channel, Fox News Channel, CNBC, and locally in various television markets.
 
Cheryl recently hosted a national TV program titled “Get Ready America: The National Hurricane Survival Test,” which aired in 50 U.S. television markets. Cheryl is well-known in her industry and presents at various company events and conferences about national disaster preparedness. In recognition of her work, Cheryl recently received a “FEMA Individual and Community Preparedness Award for Awareness to Action, Honorable Mention.”  
 
Cheryl is also a contract instructor for FEMA’s NDPTC (National Disaster Preparedness Training Center) and a recognized NOAA Weather Ready Nation (WRN) Ambassador who speaks at various conferences and events in the U.S. and Canada.
