As I mentioned, turns out a new survey reveals that 49% of Hot Dog Lovers consider themselves to be “Adventurers” or “Fanatics” when it comes to the type of toppings they put on their hot dogs. That may reflect more on their overall personality too!
And men chow down on the dogs much more than women. According to the survey – more than half of men in the U.S. had eaten a wiener within the past week - while only 43% of women consumed a frank within the same time frame.
Americans love affair with the hot dog extends from backyard barbecues to ballparks during the summer months. Those in the know about top dog status say more than seven billion hot dogs will be eaten by Americans between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Every year, people in the U.S. bite into an average of 60 wieners each.
