An exciting, new initiative promoting tourism and cross-cultural understanding is in full swing! The 2016 China-U.S. Tourism Year kicked off on Feb 29 with an Opening Ceremony in Beijing. Supported by Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Barack Obama, the initiative offers a unique opportunity for the tourist industries in both countries to engage, interact and learn from each other.
As a preferred partner for the China-U.S. Tourism Year, Visa is working with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the China National Tourism Association as they rollout a year of events aimed at boosting tourism. The first of these events will welcome 1000 American tourists at the Great Wall on March 25.
