Brooke is a writer, cook, culinary instructor and mother. She is the author of, Belle in the Big Apple (Scribner 08’), a novel about a small a small-town Southern girl who moves to New York City in search of a career— and a good meal. It was this love for (or obsession with?!) great food and beautiful cookbooks that led Brooke to co-author, with James, Just Married & Cooking (Scribner 11’) and the forthcoming, The Flavor Matrix (HMH 18’). Through her series of Couples Cooking classes at the Institute of Culinary Education, Brooke developed into a culinary and entertaining expert with appearances on and writing gigs for: NBC Today Show; The Dr Oz Show, CBS New York, Fox & Friends, People.com, Redbook.com and WomensDay.com. Brooke also penned the online food column, Full Plate (think Carrie Bradshaw-cum-June Cleaver), for the New York Daily News and hosted the ABC digital food series, Eat & Greet. She also served as the lifestyle/cooking correspondent for Conde Nast’s debut web network. When Brooke is not instructing adults on how to slice and sear, she’s teaching her 8-year-old daughter, Parker, proper table manners and her 2 year-old son, August, how to use chopsticks. James and Brooke will soon open their first restaurant inspired by their home on the Gulf Coast and travels through Italy. Angelena’s Ristorante Italiano is set to open in late 2018 in Pensacola, FL.
