Nearly 150 million Americans didn't go to the dentist last year. Millions more live in places where there is little or no access to care. Other barriers like cost, lack of insurance, and fear also prohibit regular dental visits. This is especially challenging for many U.S. military veterans, who are not eligible for dental benefits through the Veterans Administration unless they are 100% disabled, have a service-related mouth injury or were a prisoner of war.
To serve the men and women who have served our country, the nation’s largest network of branded dental offices, Aspen Dental is working to close the gap for those veterans who have not previously been able to access dental care through its Healthy Mouth Movement. Since launching in 2014, The Mouth Mobile has served more than 21,000 veterans across the U.S. and 2019 marks the sixth anniversary of the program’s Day of Service.
