LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- When high school football kicks off next week in Lee County, it's still unclear whether the regular referees will be on the field.

The president of the local referee's association told Fox 4 on Tuesday that they've reached an agreement with all 14 high schools in the county.

However, school district representatives say they are still working on an agreement with the officials.

Earlier this week, the state revoked their officiating license over a demand for a pay increase.

In the end, they didn't get the increase, but they will get some money back for out-of-pocket expenses.
