FORT MYERS, Fla. — A Fort Myers boxing gym has partnered with Lee County Schools and the Southwest Florida Community Foundation to offer an after-school mentoring program and fitness training for junior high and high school students.

SJC Boxing, 4220 Cleveland Ave., is also home to the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame Museum. The gym celebrated its 32nd anniversary over the weekend with an Open House event where the mentoring program was announced.

The SJC Mentoring Program will begin on Monday, April 12. Junior high and high school students who enroll in the program will receive one hour of academic tutoring and two hours of physical training. They will also receive a healthy meal each day and hear from professional athletes and business leaders for weekly inspiration.

The SJC Mentoring Program is supported by a grant from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.
