FORT MYERS, Fla. — In response to the continuing economic impact of COVID-19 on small businesses, Fort Myers is offering limited Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to help microenterprise businesses stabilize and retain employees. A microenterprise business consists of five or fewer employees, with one of them being the owner.
The owner must be low income based on HUD income guidelines, and the business must be in Fort Myers municipal boundaries. It must have been a viable business and in good standing before the Governors’ COVID-19 “Stay at Home Order” issued April 1.
The financial assistance will be in the form of a forgivable loan up to $10,000.
Business owners can register and apply Nov. 30, after 8 a.m., through the city’s online portal for Community Development.
