FORT MYERS, Fla. — Over the last month many restaurants were limited to take out and delivery or completely shut their doors, but come Monday May 4th, they can reopen, under a few conditions.
According to Executive Order 20-112, restaurants reopening must allow indoor seating at 25% capacity, 6 foot distancing between tables, and parties no larger than 10.
The owner of La Trattoria Cafe Napoli in Fort Myers says, she wants customers to protect the staff and themselves.
“When they come in the restaurant they should bring their own gloves and masks,” said Gloria Jordan, Owner.
Adding be sure to call before heading in.
“We’re going to do only reservations, and walk-ins only if we have the capacity. So it would be best, that you make your reservations so we have control of how many people we’re going to be serving, sitting down in the restaurant”, said Jordan.
The governor’s order also states if you are seating customers outdoors, be sure they are socially distanced.
Lamotta’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria in Fort Myers says, they have it all planned out.
“We’ve got about 15 tables out there, and we’re putting them six feet apart from each other. We’re also expanding into the parking lot six feet away”, said Carmelo Lamotta, Owner.
They are eager to reopen, but want everyone to be safe.
“Eventually you’ll be able to go eat at your favorite restaurants, go sit at your favorite bar, but let’s just take it easy and see how it happens”, said Lamotta.
